Who is Bianca Torrez?
In an instant, life happens. Beautiful days can still come after tragedy strikes. Life isn’t always charming and that’s what I believe makes a powerful image. Most days in our life are beautiful and being fortunate enough to capture those memories means that they will last forever.
When I am not having surgery or breaking my bones I am busy to capturing moments in people's lives. I have experienced my fair share of tragedy and happiness throughout my years. Though some of these moments in my life were hard to get through I am grateful that I have been able to capture these moments in time.
I got my first camera when I was in middle school and I spent my time taking pictures of my friends and documenting the life of my family. These pictures didn’t hold much value to me until one of my friends died from a car accident a few years later. The pictures I had weren’t scripted, it was her not posing, and not just smiling because there was a camera, it was a moment captured on film of her genuinely happy.
As I’ve gotten older I’ve appreciated life and every moment more and more. Communication through a few pieces of glass on my camera can be more powerful than one can imagine. Once the shutter snaps, a historical moment is documented.
I knew I had found my purpose in life when I started taking pictures, because everyone has a story to tell. I genuinely want to help people make their own history and share their stories. We all have something to learn from everyone, we just have to see beyond the mirrors and pieces of glass.

Feel free to check out my own story. I had a tumor about the size of a golf ball removed from my left forearm while in high school.
